About the Baguette
Designed by Silvia Venturini Fendi in 1997 and named for its slim, under-the-arm silhouette, the Baguette became one of the most recognized 'it bags' of the late 1990s after appearing throughout Sex and the City. Fendi relaunched the style in 2019.
What affects this bag's resale value
- Standard leather versions from the current relaunch hold roughly 72% of retail — vintage 1997-2004 originals in rare fabrics or embellishment trade at a significant premium instead
- Beaded, embellished, or limited-collaboration Baguettes can resell for multiples of a standard leather version
- General Fendi resale demand has softened recently, which affects standard current-production pieces more than sought-after vintage examples
