About the Diorever
Introduced for Spring/Summer 2016 as the last major bag launch of Raf Simons' tenure at Dior, the Diorever took its name from the idea of an 'ever-lasting' everyday bag, with an adjustable strap that let it convert between shoulder and crossbody carry. It was discontinued around 2019 as Maria Grazia Chiuri's design codes (Saddle, Book Tote, Diorama) took over the handbag lineup. Because it was never reissued, the Diorever has become a quieter but genuine collector's piece among Dior loyalists who remember the Simons era.
What affects this bag's resale value
- Discontinued status means supply only shrinks, which supports prices for clean examples
- Mini size is the most sought-after; large totes see softer demand
- Metallic and exotic-leather versions command a real premium over plain calfskin
- Condition of the adjustable strap hardware, which is prone to wear and is hard to source replacements for
- Association with the Raf Simons design era adds a fashion-history premium for some buyers

Frequently asked questions
- Does the Diorever hold its value?
- Reasonably well for a discontinued style. Because Dior stopped producing it around 2019, well-kept examples in classic black calfskin or sought-after metallics tend to hold steadier resale value than many current-production bags, since supply can only decrease.
- Is the Diorever a good investment?
- It's a solid choice for a collector rather than a pure investment play. It won't appreciate the way a Lady Dior or Saddle might, but its discontinued status and cult following among Raf Simons-era fans give it more resale resilience than most out-of-production mid-tier Dior bags.
Dior (est. 1946) — Known for the Lady Dior, a style with sustained cultural cachet and steady, if unspectacular, resale demand compared to Chanel or Hermès.
